Project Insight offers several methods for retrieving your important data. This article outlines the available methods for exporting workspace data, whether for historical records or migration to another software system. As long as you can log in to your workspace, all your data remains accessible through these methods. Build-In Export Options
The easiest way to extract information is by utilizing our built-in reporting features. Simply select the “Export to Excel” option from the upper right-hand menu on the report.
This short video demonstrates all available exporting and printing options at the project level. However, all reports offer the same export formats, including Excel and CSV.
If you choose this option, make sure you follow the checklist below when exporting data:
- Run all the "types" of reports based on what you use Project Insight for, i.e. time tracking = Time Entry Reports, project plans = Task and Project Reports, issue tracking = Issue Reports.
- Include all columns in your reports, no harm in having too many columns when you export your historical data.
Project Insight's APIs to Access Data
You can also retrieve data using the REST API, which provides programmatic access to Project Insight. The REST API enables seamless integration with various tools, including Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, and other third-party applications.

Project Insight's Professional Services
