Entering Time for a Task in Project Insight
Time can be entered for tasks from the Time tab on the task detail screen. Other time entry methods that do not require opening a task are covered in the Time Entry Worksheet topic.
Entering Actual Hours on a Task
Option 1: Enter time from the Task List
If you are working task by task, you can enter time directly from the Task List. Select the Work Status for a task. A modal opens where you can:
- Add a comment
- Update the status
- Enter time
Option 2: Enter time from the Task Detail page
Open the task to view the Task Detail page, then select Add Time near the top (next to the Status button). Similar to the Time Entry Grid, a modal opens where you can enter your time.
Option 3: View and add time in the Time tab
On the Task Detail page, scroll to the tabs near the bottom (for example: Time, Expense, Dependencies). Open the Time tab to view existing time entries on the task and enter additional time.
