Approvals

Approve any item in Project Insight (e.g. files, tasks, issues, anything). Set up approvals and your team will always know what is pending, approved or denied.

Welcome to Project Insight. In today's video, I'll be overviewing the Approvals add-on. I will show you how to install the Approvals add-on and how to access and create approvals from your Project Insight home.

To access the add-on, click on the Add-ons app in your home. From Add-ons, navigate to "Get More Add-ons." Click on Approvals, then click Install. After that, click OK and navigate back to your home. From the home, you can now see that there is a new Approvals app.

To create an approval, click the "Add Approval" button in the top left. Select what you're creating the approval for, choose the type of approval you want, and select the item to approve. From here, we can select a name for our approval, a description, the items being approved, and most importantly, the actual approvers. For our approvers, I'll select John Doe and myself, Kyle Crane.

When adding multiple approvers, two options come into play. The first option is "All approvers must approve." If this option is enabled, all approvers must approve the request before it can go through. The second option is "Approval routed sequentially." If enabled, it means that the approvers have to approve in a specific order, which is specified in the rightmost column in the approvers table.

Lastly, you can select a due date and make sure to check the "Activate and send approval" option if you want the approval to go out now. If you'd like to save the approval for later, uncheck this option and click Save.

Now, back on the Approvals home, you'll be able to see open approval requests as well as requests awaiting your approval. Let's click on the request we just created. Click "Approve/Deny." You can optionally explain your decision, then click your choice.

To summarize, you can access the new Approvals feature by installing the Approvals add-on from the Add-ons page. You can create new and access existing approvals by navigating to the Approvals app in your Project Insight home.
