Today, we are going to be talking about the Approval Template add-on in Project Insight, specifically on creating and using a predefined approval routing template.
To begin, if you don't already have the Approval Template add-on installed, you'll want to navigate to Add-ons and go to Get More Add-ons. Search for Approval Templates, click on the add-on card, click Install, and once it is installed, click Configure.
From here, it's really easy to make an approval template. Just click the plus sign to add a template. Select a name, and we will use "Example Routing Template" for this demonstration. Next, you can set up your approval routing sequentially. For instance, we can designate Adam De Mamp to approve first, and Arthur Morgan to approve second. Simply click Save, and you will see your approval details screen.
When you actually want to utilize this approval template, go to Home, then navigate to your Approvals menu. Click on the plus sign to create a new approval. You can choose an existing item; let’s say we select a task for the project. We can name it "Design Coordination." For the approval template, we will select our "Example Routing Template" and this will automatically take the approvers we selected earlier, in their designated sequence. Finally, click Save, and your approval has been created based on the template.
