In this video, I am going to show you how to permanently delete a user. Normally, we do not recommend deleting users; we recommend deactivating them by simply marking the user as active or not active. In order to delete a user, you first need to make them not active. However, prior to doing any kind of deletion, you may want to review any of the tasks that the user was assigned to. Therefore, you may want to first choose the "Reassign Tasks" option to find any task that a user is assigned to and reassign them to a different user before permanently deleting the user account.
Once you've decided to permanently delete a user, the first step is to mark the user as not active. Then, you can navigate to their profile.
To delete the user, click the appropriate option. You will be prompted one more time to confirm that you are about to delete that user. Simply choose "OK," and the user will be deleted.
In this case, I am not going to delete this user; I will mark them as active again. When a user is active, the delete option is not presented. If I go to their user profile, you can see that there is no "X" there. They cannot be deleted until they are deactivated first. But as I mentioned earlier in this video, before you decide to delete a user, you should reassign their tasks to ensure that you have given someone else the work that the person was supposed to do. Following our best practices, you should deactivate the user and perhaps leave them in a deactivated state for a couple of months before you actually permanently delete any user.
Thank you.
