In this video, we'll talk about the Project Sponsors field and add-on in Project Insight. To turn on the add-on, you'll go to the Add-ons page, which is accessible through the My Insight dropdown. Look for Project Sponsors. If you don't have the add-on installed, then you'll need to go to the Get More Add-ons tab to install it as an Administrator.
Once the add-on is installed, there's no further configuration needed; it's simply on or off. When the add-on is installed, you'll go to the project edit page to assign a sponsor to a project. This feature is specifically designed for teams that may have a stakeholder or an internal leadership member who has a particular interest in a certain project and wants to be assigned as a sponsor.
There can be multiple sponsors assigned to a project, and they can keep an eye on that project or be the person who escalates project issues. To enable someone as a project sponsor, you'll go to their user profile, then to the Resource Info tab. Underneath Resource Types, this checkbox will designate them as a project sponsor. Only those who are designated as project sponsors in the profile will appear in the sponsors dropdown.
There are no further permissions or roles assigned to anyone as a project sponsor; it's primarily for informational or reference purposes to identify who that stakeholder is for that project, and the sponsor must be mainly assigned.
