This video will talk about the project delete options found under the projects and tasks add-on configuration. Going down to the project delete options, there are two checkboxes that are set to "on" by default. The first checkbox will remove the option to delete a project if there are any time entries or expense entries on a task within the project or at the project level. Therefore, if I go to a project, the disabled delete option will not allow me to delete the project at that point.
The second checkbox will provide the option to delete unsubmitted time entries or expense entries within the project while deleting it. Please note that this is specifically for unsubmitted time entries. If you have submitted your time or expenses, then those will not be counted as unsubmitted time entries that you can delete alongside the project.
Since this option is enabled, let’s go to this project and proceed to the delete page. You will notice that you need to enter the project number before deleting it. Because that checkbox was enabled, you can delete those unsubmitted time and expense entries.
We highly suggest exercising caution when deleting projects or, ideally, never doing so and only archiving them, as they are not retrievable after deletion. There is no undo option in Project Insight, so when you delete a project, it is gone. That's why we recommend using the project close and archiving options.
For more information about the projects and tasks add-on or its subsections, please see their individual videos and documentation.
