This video will talk about and describe the Projects and Tasks add-on, which will be broken up into videos pertaining to each subsection. As you can see in each of these subsections, there is an option to enable applying to all projects. You can also enable some of them, and most of them, on a project-by-project basis. If you enable them in the Projects and Tasks add-on, that will be a global change. However, you can also make that change in the Edit Project options and even in Task options, which allows for project-by-project management of those settings.
First, you can manage the project views on a global or project-by-project basis. You can see that the project views I have selected here are the ones that are in my project.
Second, there is intelligent scheduling, which enables the use of duration, work hours, predecessors, or any other task list column that is essential for project scheduling. In here, you can see that duration, work hours, and predecessors are some of those essential columns for task scheduling.
Third, there are work effort input options. This is where you will manage how the task effort for work hours is recorded. This can be done globally and on a project-by-project basis.
Fourth, you can add resources to projects and tasks. This is where you will manage how resources can be added at the project level assignment. If I go to my project here on the resource project assignment level and also back on the task list at the task level, this can also be done globally or on a project-by-project basis.
Fifth, there is the link to the task global settings, which will be addressed in a separate video.
Sixth, there are the project close options, where you will decide how a project is archived at the end of its life cycle. If I go to the project here and to the archive option, you can see this functionality.
Seventh, there are the project delete options for those rare occasions when you will actually delete a project. The option is there, and we do have some safeguards in place in case you accidentally try to delete a project; it will not let you do so.
Next, the summary task options are the eighth option here. These rarely get edited but are there for your information. You can check out the individual subsection video for those details.
Lastly, there are miscellaneous options, which is the final option in the Projects and Tasks add-on. This will only appear when you have the Company add-on installed. Just like the rest of the subsections at the top of the task and projects configuration, each of the subsections will have their own video pertaining to what the checkboxes and configurations do.
