Helpful tips in how to filter and view projects on the Project Home.
Transcript:
This video is to provide tips for using the Project Home in Project Insight. To navigate to the Project Home, you will go to your "My Insight" dropdown and select the "Projects" dropdown.
Once on the Project Home, you may notice that after a while of using Project Insight or after being assigned to many projects, the list of projects is growing very long. This could be caused by a couple of different things that we are going to look at in this video.
The first thing to check is this checkbox right here: "Include Inactive Projects." If you have a Project Life Cycle where, once a project is finished, it is updated to a status that is completed (such as in the Project Status add-on), that means the project is no longer active and will not show up on your lists.
You may want to uncheck this box, and you will notice that the scroll bar has now gotten a lot bigger and you are seeing fewer projects on this list because we have now filtered out those projects that are no longer active.
The next thing to check is this dropdown. If you are a PMO Manager in your profile, then you will have the option to see all projects in Project Insight, whether they are assigned to you on the project manager level or not. To check if you have that enabled in your profile, look for this PMO Manager checkbox in your system roles. If you do not have this checkbox enabled in your profile, then you will not see this option.
If you do want to see all projects, you can enable that option. However, if you only want to see projects that you are assigned to or the projects where you are the project manager, then you should leave the checkbox unchecked. Now, you will see that the scroll bar is even a little shorter, and I am looking at a more refined view of projects where I am just the project manager and that are active.
