Brief video showing how to display the Summary Tasks (path) on the Planning, Assignment and Status Boards as Project Views.
Transcript:
This video is for teams who are using the Conon boards in the project views, specifically the Planning Board, Assignment Board, and Status Board. When you are in these boards, for instance, in the Status Board, you'll notice that the task cards only display the task name and the end date. Additionally, when you click into it and open the task display, it shows the name, the project, and some other task information to help determine where this task falls in the task plan.
You can turn on the display options to show the summary task. What this does is include the top-level summary task under which this task is currently saved. For example, you can see that this task right here and this one are all underneath the Fielding summary task, while this one is underneath the pre-launch task. Please note that this is actually referring to the highest-level summary task.
If we look at this task, it indicates that the study is not proceeding according to plan. If I go back to the task list, you will find that this task is located right here, and you'll see that the summary task that it most closely falls under is 'Implement Contingency Plan.' However, the one that shows on the task card is 'Fielding.' It will always display the highest root level summary task in that view.
This display occurs in the Status Board, Assignment Board, and Planning Boards of the project to show the summary task in the same way. In the Planning Board, you can access the display options and click 'Display Summary Task' as well.
