Short video explains how to rapidly enter time onto the Time Entry Grid in Project Insight using the keyboard arrow keys to navigate on the input and using the tab and enter keys as well.
Transcript:
In this video, I'm going to show you how to use the arrow keys on the time entry grid to quickly enter time. Let's say I want to enter time on this issue in the Global X Project for Monday. I can click in the box and then enter my time entry. Let's say I'm going to record one hour for this task. Then, I can use the right arrow key on my keyboard to move to the next cell to the right, and then move to the next cell to the right again, entering three hours now. If I want to go down a row, I can use the down arrow key to enter a time entry. I can also use the left arrow key to move to the previous day and navigate up and down, allowing me to go all the way around my grid using the arrow keys.
The tab keys work as well, but the tab keys are designed to allow you to tab into the form and then enter a description. After that, you can hit the tab key again to select "Add Time" and press enter. If you want to move to the next cell from there, you can actually press the tab key, and it will automatically move to the next cell. While the tab keys work for navigating through the form, they function a little differently than the arrow keys, which navigate you up, down, and around the grid.
If you don't need to enter descriptions and are trying to enter your time quickly, you can use the enter key and the arrow keys on your keyboard to do just that.
