By default the out of the box work schedule in Project Insight will only work during business days, and will skip over weekends. If you want a specific task to run over the weekend, you can use elapsed days to accomplish this. Short video explains how to use elapsed days
Transcript:
In this video, I'm going to show you how to use elapsed days to let a task work over a weekend. By default, the work schedule has weekends blocked off, so a three-day task that starts on a Thursday will run on Thursday and Friday, then skip over Saturday and Sunday, landing on a Monday.
However, if this task can start immediately and can land whenever it is completed, you will type in "three elapsed days" instead of just "three days." This way, the task will start right away as soon as it can. It will run for three calendar days and will end on that Saturday. This is a quick and easy way to allow a task to run over the weekend or to be calculated based on calendar days.
You can use elapsed days on durations, as well as on lead and lag time on predecessors.
