Short video explains how to add holidays and non-work days into the Workspace Default work schedule in Project Insight
Transcript:
In this video, I am going to show you how to enter non-working days, your holidays, and your schedules. What you need to do is go to Add-ons, and then choose the Work Schedules add-on. In my case, I have already entered it, so I am going to type in "Schedule." Here are my work schedules; I will hit "Configure." Note that I have multiple different work schedules, but I happen to know that all my work schedules inherit from the workspace default, so I will click on that.
I actually have a couple of days already, but I will go ahead and add my Thanksgiving holidays. This year, I am not sure if this is accurate, but let’s say it is the 21st and the 22nd for Thanksgiving in the United States. That is how you would enter those two days. You can also change the reason; by default, it is just labeled as a holiday, but it might be a non-working day. You can change the type of day, and you can also adjust it to reflect just a half day. Let’s say you are going to work only half a day; I would indicate that I am going to work from 8 until noon and then hit "Save." Instead of being gray, it is now green because I am still on the schedule, but it is a half day.
Now, I am just going to go ahead and switch it back to a whole holiday off. These are my holidays here, and what happens is that the schedules will now skip over those days. By default, you can hit "Recalculate Schedules," and it will recalculate everything in the system by doing that.
