System Administrators can impersonate any user in their Project Insight workspace. This is particularly helpful to troubleshoot or check understanding for team users in any workspace.
Transcript:
This is a quick tutorial on how to impersonate a team member in Project Insight. Impersonating a team member is a fairly simple process, but you need to be listed as a system admin to do so. Checking if you are a system admin is as simple as going to your profile, selecting "Edit," and looking in the system roles to see if you have administrative permissions.
Now, if we go back to the users, the easiest way to impersonate someone is to navigate to the user you would like to impersonate. Select the three dots and click "Impersonate." Typically, when someone impersonates a team member, they look to assist with troubleshooting or help find errors in the system. Anything that is done in this system is reflected as having been done through impersonation.
For example, in the system, you can see that Adam Lewis is being impersonated by me, Kate. From here, I can view the system as Adam would see it. Additionally, if you need to update a status for someone, you can do so; for instance, I can mark a status as "Started" or "Done." We will go ahead and mark that as done.
If you ever need to check the history of impersonation or review activity on a particular task, you can go into the task itself, scroll down to the bottom, and select "Activity." The activity log will show that Adam Lewis updated the work status, and it will indicate in parentheses that he was impersonated by me, Kate Nelson. Regardless of impersonation, you will always know who made the changes and when they occurred.
