Project Insight now offers a sandbox environment that's backed up from your production workspace on a quarterly basis. Use it to test, train, and validate changes without touching live data.
What is it?
The sandbox is a copy of your production environment. It gives your team a safe place to:
- Review a copy of production data
- Test configuration changes
- Validate workflows or permissions
- Train new administrators or users
- Explore process changes before rolling them out
- Troubleshoot setup questions without affecting live work
How the backup cycle works
Project Insight maintains four backup points, one for each quarter of the year. Each quarterly backup overwrites itself when that quarter comes around again:
- Q1 backup overwrites the previous Q1 backup
- Q2 backup overwrites the previous Q2 backup
- Q3 backup overwrites the previous Q3 backup
- Q4 backup overwrites the previous Q4 backup
This gives you a recurring quarterly copy cycle rather than an unlimited, ever-growing archive of backups.
What the sandbox is not
- Not a permanent archive. Each quarterly backup replaces the last one from that same quarter, so older snapshots aren't kept indefinitely.
- Not a replacement for production. It's built for testing, training, and validation, not for day-to-day work.
- Not connected to production. Changes made in the sandbox do not automatically update production. Anything you want to keep has to be applied manually on the live side.
