Levels of Resources - a Vocab Help Guide

This article refers to either Project Insight #Enterprise or those workspaces choosing to enable the Project Roles add-on.

PMO User

• This is an option in the User's Profile in the User System Roles
• Checking this box allows this user to edit any project in the workspace as though they were the project's project manager

Project Sponsor

• A reportable field about who has a stake in this project
• Set your list of Project Sponsors in the Resource Info of each user’s profile

Primary Project Manager

• Meant to be the “Project Owner” or the one person who owns the work
• Set the Primary Project Manager with the checkbox in the Project Resources page

Project Manager

• A project can have multiple Project Managers
• All Project Managers have the ability to make changes to the schedule, resources, and budget
• See Project Managers in the Project Roles Permissions

Project Scheduler

• A project can have multiple Project Schedulers
• All project schedulers have the ability to make changes to the schedule and resources, but not see the budget
• See Project Roles Permissions

Task Owner

• By default, there is no difference between a Task Owner and a Task Resource
• Many teams have asked to designate who is this responsible for this task
• You set the Task Owner either by whomever you added to the task first or changing the owner in the Edit Task Details page

Task Resource

• Anyone assigned to do the work on this task
