Critical Path

If a task affects the end date of the project, it's critical.

If the task can float (meaning take longer or end later) and will NOT affect the end date of the project, it's not critical.

As a project manager in Project Insight, you can Manually Designate Critical Tasks, but this usually ends up creating a mess.

It is better to use your Predecessors correctly and let PI calculate Critical Path for you.
