Project Insight’s free edition includes unlimited projects, tasks, co-workers, and team members. If you want to expand your workspace with additional functionality, you can install add-ons from the Add-Ons area.
Some add-ons are available in the free edition, while others require a paid plan. For example, certain add-ons, such as Time Tracking And Time Sheets, may require the Pro plan or another eligible plan.

How To Open The Add-Ons Page
You can access add-ons from either the home screen or the My Insight menu.
- Log in to your Project Insight workspace.
- From the home screen, select the Add-Ons app.
- Or, open the My Insight menu.
- Select Add-Ons.
This opens the Add-Ons administration page.
Installed Add-Ons Vs. Get More Add-Ons
The Add-Ons page includes two tabs.
Installed Add-Ons
Shows the add-ons currently installed in your workspace.
Get More Add-Ons
Shows additional add-ons that may be available to install.
In the free edition, some add-ons may be locked because they require a specific paid plan.
How To Install An Add-On In The Free Edition
In this example, the Comment Options add-on is available in the free edition.
- Go to the Add-Ons page.
- Select the Get More Add-Ons tab.
- Find the Comment Options add-on card.
- Select the add-on card.
- Click Install.
- After the add-on is installed, click Configure if configuration is available.
How To Configure An Installed Add-On
After installing an add-on, Project Insight may take you to the configuration page for that add-on.
For the Comment Options add-on, the configuration page is called Comment Settings.
To return to the configuration page later:
- Go back to the Add-Ons page.
- Select the Installed Add-Ons tab.
- Find the installed add-on.
- Click Configure.
How To Disable Or Uninstall An Add-On
Once an add-on is installed, you can manage it from the Installed Add-Ons tab.
- Go to the Add-Ons page.
- Select the Installed Add-Ons tab.
- Find the add-on you want to manage.
- Click the More Options button.
- Choose Disable or Uninstall.
Disable keeps the add-on installed but prevents users from accessing its features.
Uninstall removes the add-on from your installed add-ons list.
Best Practices
- Review which plan is required before trying to install an add-on.
- Use Get More Add-Ons to explore what is available for your workspace.
- Use Configure after installation to adjust add-on settings.
- Use Disable if you want to temporarily stop access without fully removing the add-on.
- Use Uninstall when the add-on is no longer needed.
