Overview
There are times you want to delete an Attachment (file, approval, etc.). This may happen if you add the wrong item or put an Attachment on an incorrect task, project, etc.
TIP 1: You will only be able to delete Attachments if you have permission to do so. How do you tell? If you see the delete icon, you have permission. If you do not, contact your PI administrator to delete it for you. You can @mention them in a comment or use the email page or copy URL feature to send the link to your administrator.
TIP 2: Once you delete something, it CANNOT be recovered. Be sure you really want to delete it before proceeding
Deleting
For most items, you can delete it in one of two ways.
- From the Attachment's location
- Go to where the Attachment is located
- On that item's row, if you have permission, click the Delete icon
- You will be asked to confirm your deletion
- Click [OK] to delete the Attachment
- From the Attachment's detail page
- Go to the item itself
- In the upper right of your screen, click the Delete icon
- You will be asked to confirm your deletion
- Click [OK] to delete the Attachment
- You will return to the page you were on prior to going to the Attachment's detail page
Special Instructions if you are on an item that is showing Attachment tiles
If you are on an item where your Attachments are showing as tiles, you can use method #2 above or follow these simple instructions
- Switch your view from Tiles to List
- On that item's row, if you have permission, click the Delete icon
- You will be asked to confirm your deletion
- Click [OK] to delete the Attachment
