Import companies from a Microsoft Excel (XLS) file. You can use this method for adding new companies or making mass updates to existing companies.

Accessing Import Template
Find the Companies Excel Import Template from the My Insight Menu > Companies > Advanced > Import Companies Excel Import Template
This document will act as the template for your import
Note: This is also the page from which you will be importing your data
Modifying Data
The format of the Excel file must be used as-is without modification to any data cell formatting prior to the import. Adding a space to a field header or changing a capital letter to a lower case letter in the field header will skip that column upon import.
Columns
There are five columns when using the company import template: Name, Project Assignment Enabled, Time & Exp. Entry Enabled, Active, and Id.
Note: Only the 'Name' Column is Required
Importing Data
To import companies navigate back to the Company Import page
- Choose the excel workbook file containing your company information
- Click Upload
- Choose the companies you'd like to import from the file (all will be selected by default)
- Click Save
