Installing the Portfolios and Programs Add-on

Group related projects together to see strategic progress, dependencies, and delivery at a higher level.

How to Install Programs or Portfolios

Before creating portfolios or programs, confirm that the Programs and Portfolios add-on is enabled in the workspace.

1. Go to Add-ons.
2. If the add-on is not installed, select Get More Add-ons.
3. Install or configure the add-on for programs and portfolios.
4. Once it is available, the Programs and Portfolios options appear in the workspace.

How to Add Portfolios or Programs

1. Navigate from the Home screen

   • Click the Portfolios or Programs tile on your Home screen, or open the menu  Portfolios or Programs.

2 . Create a new portfolio or program

• Click + Portfolio or + Program.

• Enter a name, description, and assign an owner or primary manager.

• Click Save.

3. Assign a project to its portfolio or program

• When creating or editing a project, open the Edit Project panel.

• Under Affiliations, select the correct Portfolio and Program, then Save.

• The project will automatically roll up into that portfolio’s dashboards and reports.

4. View real-time roll-ups

• Return to your Portfolio Home or Program Home.

• See all related projects grouped by status, budget, and capacity.

• Adjust your columns, filters, and saved layouts for personalized visibility.

You can create as many portfolios and programs as you need—Project Insight scales from small departments to enterprise-wide PMOs.
