Purge Previous Microsoft Project XML Files

Project Insight saves the original MS Project XML data when performing an import from MS Project so that it can merge missing data from that file into future Project Insight exported files. If this is not working as expected and causing MS Project export errors, it may be necessary to delete the stored XML data and perform the export without merging MS Project data from the original import into the resulting exported file. The following steps will remove the stored XML data for a project so that it no longer causes errors when attempting to export the project:

1. Locate the GUID for the project by sending an “Email Page” from the project task list view. This will result in the URL followed by the Project’s GUID
2. Go to the following path: \Inetpub\ProjectInsightHosted\Sites\Files\[site GUID]\[project GUID]\MSProject\
3. Delete the file named MSProjectXml.xml (optionally save it elsewhere for potential use outside of Project Insight)
4. Retry the export
