Turning off auto-alerts globally

Using your server oprerating system, access Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Services

In services, Right click on “Project Insight Windows Service” and select “stop”.  Further more, please right-click on “Project Insight Windows Service” and go into PROPERTIES and set the start-up type to “Manual” (Once you select this, make sure you select “apply” and “ok” before closing the window, or you changes will not take affect).
 
Note Regarding Development Server Installs: Do not install the Project Insight Windows Service on a development server.  It sends auto-alerts which are generally not needed for development.  The only exception to this might be if you're performing customizations which impact the auto-alerts and you want to test them. The Project Insight Windows Service has no purpose other than to send auto-alerts via email, and its absence has no impact on the use of the Project Insight Web Application.
