Clicking on Calendar will bring you to a screen that appears much like a traditional calendar. Here you can review your tasks and to-do items as they relate to the calendar months.
You can browse through your tasks and to-dos for any month by clicking and using the left arrows and right arrows to scroll backward and forward among calendar months. Links labeled Day, Week, Month and Year are available to change the calendar date range views. In addition, the numeric dates displayed in the calendar views are links which can be clicked to zoom in on just that day's view.
Filtering Your Calendar View
You can change the display by clicking and choosing from a variety of filters, as seen in the example below.
Under Filter Tasks by Project, for example, you can highlight All Projects Listed, or the line item called Brochure, then click to refresh the screen and see only those tasks related to the Brochure project.
Alternatively, you can highlight any combination of items in the three columns, so that, for example, you will only see tasks for the user Floyd Johnson with a specialty of Copy Writing within the Brochure project.
You may also decide to change your calendar view by checking the boxes next to options such as Display Task/To-Do Details, Hide Completed Tasks or Include Unassigned Tasks Matching Filters Above.
The calendar interface will differ in the data displayed depending upon the page from which the calendar is accessed.
Project Calendars accessed from the Project Views drop-down within the project will default to display the tasks assigned to you within the project from which the calendar is accessed regardless of the Project State. This is the only view allowing project tasks which are not in active projects to be viewed.
Calendar accessed from My Insight will default to display all tasks within active projects assigned to you.
Additional Notes and Rules on Calendar Views
The list of projects displayed for filter selections may vary by user. For example, a resource allocation report viewer will see all projects they have read access to that are "Active" in addition to the project that they are viewing even if that one project is not active (the "not active" project view is relevant only when viewing a calendar from within a project view).
For all other users it is a list of the active projects within which they are assigned. This could include projects within which they have no read access, but this would be uncommon as it is not a normal practice to assign a resource to a project and restrict their permissions to read it.
Selecting a resource/type role filter will show only tasks assigned to that resource type role, or tasks within which one of the users in the list is assigned to that resource/type role at the assignment level. If either of these are true, the task displays. If resource type/role is not specified, and one is selected, then that value is not returned. The only way to get a task displayed which does not have a resource type/role assigned is to use the "All Resource Type/Roles".
Resource Allocation Report Viewer and Project Report Viewers will see all of the active users in the resource list, while other users may see only active users assigned on the same projects as themselves.
