    Hi Jeremy,

    We appreciate your feedback! After consideration, development did include this feature in the latest release as noted in the 18.10.0 Release Notes

    If you navigate to the Administration tab > User Defined Fields > Tasks to then either edit your existing custom fields or add a new one, you will have this option as a check box under "Advanced" settings of the custom field. The check box shown in the screenshot below, "Bulk Editable," will allow you to achieve the functionality you are looking for.
