- If I set up a project with a task that is to be done on February 15th, a task to be done on May 15th and a task to be done on July 31st, what happens to the timeline if I complete the February 15th task EARLY??? Do the May and July deadlines get moved UP so that they need to be done earlier? We would NOT want this to happen. We have certain things that need to occur in a given month and if an earlier task just happens to get done earlier, we don’t want the July task to change. Is this possible???

Hi Olivia,
In your scenario above, IF all tasks are linked with predecessor/successor relationship and if you change the duration of the task to match the done date the task was completed it would pull the other tasks.
Example
Task 1 - ends on Feb. 15th
Task 2 - starts immediately after task 1 (if predecessor/successor relationship was set with Finish to Start) that would mean Task 2 would start Feb. 16th and according to your scenario above ends May 15th.
Now if Task 1 ended instead on 14th, the user would have to change the duration to one day less and it would pull all other tasks in by 1 day, however if the user does not changed the duration it will remain with the same dates.
