How to install Add-Ons to my Free Project Insight

This video instructs users on how to install add-ons on the free version of Project Insight

Welcome to Project Insight, the free edition of Project Insight. The free edition already offers the ability to create unlimited projects and tasks, as well as adding as many co-workers and team members as you like. However, if you'd like to expand the functionality of Project Insight, you are able to do so with add-ons.

In order to install add-ons, you can either click on the "Add-ons" app on the home screen or go to your "My Insight" menu and click on "Add-ons." When navigating to the Add-ons screen, you'll be led to the "Installed Add-ons" tab. The add-ons administration has two tabs: the "Installed Add-ons" tab, where you can see all of the add-ons you currently have installed, and the "Get More Add-ons" tab, where you can install more add-ons.

Because I'm using the free edition, most add-ons are locked behind a specific plan. For example, if I click on "Time Tracking and Time Sheets," you can see that you cannot install this add-on without the Pro plan. For today's example, we'll be using an add-on that you can access on the free version of Project Insight. We'll click on the "Comment Options" add-on card, as this can be utilized in the free version of Project Insight. You'll click "Install," and once installed, you can click "Configure."

Clicking on "Configure" upon installing an add-on will lead you to the configuration page for that add-on. As you can see, we are in the Comment Settings configuration page. When you want to access your existing add-ons, you can navigate back to the Add-ons page, and you will see that the "Comment Options" add-on has been installed.

If you click on the "More Options" button, you have the option to disable or uninstall this add-on. If you want to go back to the configuration page, you can just click "Configure" on that add-on.

To summarize, to access the Add-ons page in Project Insight, you'll either click the Add-ons icon on your homepage or navigate to the Add-ons menu through the My Insight menu. To install new add-ons, you'll navigate to the Get More Add-ons page. However, in the Project Insight free edition, most add-ons are locked behind a plan. To install an add-on, you'll just click on that add-on's card and click "Install." To configure it, you'll just click "Configure."
