An overview of PI's Planning Board view, found as one of the basic Project Views. This is a Kanban view and allows users to drag and drop task cards based on a weekly basis.

Hi there! This video will walk you through the Project Insight Planning Board view, which is found in the views dropdown of any project. You'll note that the most common views in Project Insight are the Task List View and the Status View. This video will talk specifically about the Planning Board. Please look for other videos that we have about these additional views; there are many, and we have individual documentation for each one.
The Planning Board of a project acts as a Kanban board, where each tile on the Planning Board represents a task. You'll note that on each task tile, there is an indicator for the resources, the task name, and the start and end dates of each task. The Planning Board always includes the first column as “Behind” or in the past of the current date, and it will include a week basis for each date going forward from today’s date.
You’ll also note that in each of these columns going into the future, there is a plus icon that allows you to add a new task for that date range. So, if I want to add a new task between the range of April 7th through April 13th, I can just click on the add button here, and then I can include my task name. I can assign a new resource for the task and add other details, like whether it is a summary task, an appointment, or part of a certain sprint. I can write a description and then input the duration, which will automatically calculate the work hours, or I can manually enter the number of hours that I want for this task.
Now that this task is created, you can see that it showed up in the column for the date range we were discussing. If I want, I can move the task either forward or backward if I made a mistake, or if I need to reschedule, by clicking on it and dragging it into a different column. You’ll note that by doing so, I can just drop it into another area where my mouse is located. In this new box, that is where the task gets dropped.
This has been an overview of how to use the Project Insight Planning Board. You'll note that the display options are always static for past dates and then each week going forward from there. That’s it for the Project Planning Board. We hope this guide helps you make the most of this powerful tool. Thanks for watching!
