Overview
There are times you want to delete a Related Item (file, approval, etc.). This may happen if you add the wrong item or put a Related Item on an incorrect task, project, etc.
TIP 1: You will only be able to delete Related Items if you have permission to do so. How do you tell? If you see the delete icon, you have permission. If you do not, contact your PI administrator to delete it for you. You can @mention them in a comment or use the email page or copy URL feature to send the link to your administrator.
TIP 2: Once you delete something, it CANNOT be recovered. Be sure you really want to delete it before proceeding
Deleting
For most items, you can delete it in one of two ways.
- From the Related Item's location
- Go to where the Related Item is located
- On that item's row, if you have permission, click the Delete icon
- You will be asked to confirm your deletion
- Click [OK] to delete the Related Item - From the Related Item's detail page
- Go to the item itself
- In the upper right of your screen, click the Delete icon
- You will be asked to confirm your deletion
- Click [OK] to delete the Related Item
- You will return to the page you were on prior to going to the Related Item's detail page
Special Instructions if you are on an item that is showing Related Item tiles
If you are on an item where your Related Items are showing as tiles, you can use method #2 above or follow these simple instructions
- Switch your view from Tiles to List
- On that item's row, if you have permission, click the Delete icon
- You will be asked to confirm your deletion
- Click [OK] to delete the Related Item
