Overview of how to set Project Views on a global or a project-by-project basis using the Projects and Tasks Add-On.
Transcript:
This video will show you how to organize and manage your project views on a project-by-project basis and also globally for your whole system. If you'd like to manage these project views for your whole system and not let your users configure which views are available on each project, you can do so.
What you'll do is go to your add-on section. If you're an administrator, you will go to the Projects and Tasks add-on. Let's go to configure that. Here, under Projects and Task configuration, you will see the project views that are currently enabled for all projects. You can see that this is unchecked, which enables configuration to be turned on and off on a project-by-project basis. So right now, these are the views for all projects throughout the whole system.
If you'd like, you can uncheck any of these views so that they are not available to any users on any of the projects. You can also enable this so that it is configurable on a project-by-project basis. Now that I've checked that, I can go to one of my projects here in P.I. I can edit which project views we're looking at. Right now, we're looking at the task list, but I can also edit. If I go into edit project options, I now have the option to turn off maybe the Gantt chart view, or maybe the status board view, or the assignment board, or any of these views on this specific 2021 launch project.
If I go back to my add-on for Projects and Tasks and uncheck this, now if I refresh this page and go to my project options, those options to edit are no longer there. So it's up to you if you want to allow that. This is just another configuration that you can make in your Projects and Task configuration within your system.
